Hi everyone!

We're Americans, (from Richmond Virginia) traveling to Guatemala on Sept 20th until the 27th. (10 days!) This is my first trip there as an adult. (I went once when I was a small child.) We're really excited and are looking to see if there are other people planning to be there the same time we are.

Also, if anyone has been there already could answer a couple of questions, that'd be wonderful.

Is there anything that we absolutely should not miss? Is it cheaper to purchase film prior to leaving the states or when we get there? How cold does it get during the September season? What would you recommend packing? Are scooters and/or bicycles available for rent? Would you recommend renting a car while we're there?

Anything you think we might miss?

Any input would be *greatly* appreciated!

Lisa and Matt.....dont miss Antigua, Chichicastenago , Panajechel or Tikal.....check out my VT pages

It might be cheaper but you will have to go thru the hassle of manual inspection at the airport. You dont want to run undeveloped film thru the bag xray system.

It will get cold in the mountains if you go there. A fleece vest is all that I would pack.

Never saw any bikes or scooters. Road do lend themselves to bike riding.....they are either bad and hard to ride on or if they are good, the drivers will scare you off of the road with their wild driving....I would rent a car...or van....4 wheel drive....because even good road can be wiped out by the flash floods that can occur at anytime
