| Gibraltar | Weather in February Posted: Tue October 16, 2007 05:00 AM UTC
I'm looking at various places for vacations in 2008....trying to tie in with my daughter's school holidays.
I'm thinking of travelling to Gib in the 2nd week of February and have a few questions. I'm based in Ireland........I assume the weather in Gib would be somewhat warmer? Is everything open for business at this time of year............hotels,restaurants,cable car,Rock galleries etc Any info would be welcome.....thanks in advance |

Hi there
The simple answer is yes, everything is open, Gibraltar has over 3 million visits through the frontier and relies on tourism as a major economical factor. Gib although small has many historical attractions and is a photographer’s paradise when it comes to buildings, artefacts and views. The sunsets can be breathtaking...the views of the straights of gib are awesome. Day trips can be arranged to see the dolphins or whale watching (killer whales and many others have made a home in the straights), the upper rock has the famous rock apes….we have Trafalgar cemetery where many sailors are buried following the battle. Moorish Castle has been painstakingly refurbished to original conditions, the St Michaels cave are a must see or the siege tunnels with reproduction figurines in full costume, a cable car ride to the top of the rock, west side beaches such as’el quarry’ Rosia Bay, Little Bay with its man made water fall etc etc etc. As to weather during Feb this can be cold to beach weather……it varies as weather does lol. You can also hire a car and make day trips to nearby Spain such as Tarifa or Marbella, catch a ferry to Morocco the choice is endless Enjoy your trip Eric
