Well that's not your fault or any other American citizen. It's all about politics. Nobody can judge you cause you are American. People on the street probably don't care if you're American tourist or not.
But protests here in Istanbul is kind of different from your press in the USA, that's right. We care about our losses caused by terrorism at eastern Turkey much more than about Armenian things nowadays.

Turkish people are famous for their hospitality. I don't think anyone here would mix politics with other stuff. You can come and enjoy your visit in Turkey.

We all know that US american citizen is a good fellow. We are not againts US Americans but we are againts the dubble standart of Bush Administaration and we are againts the policy of USA in Iraq. We are protesting the ignorance of US politicians. We are proresting them because they accuse us againts genocite which we never crimed in our noble history. We believe in peace, freedom and respect and good understanding of nations, religions. For that reason we fought the Korean war in 1950's by the side of USA under UN command. We lost nearly 900 men in Korea to save the US 8th Army defeating againts attacking chneese. With our herotic defefence of 4500 men againts a whole Cheneese army US 8th Army had the change to retead to safer positions.
Dont hesitate to caome to Turkey. You will be in a friendly country. No one will harm even a single hair of yours.
Come happilu and returm happily.

Thank you for all your responses. You are not alone in your dislike of the Bush Administration - the majority of Americans are also against this administration :)
We are still excited to visit Turkey next month, we look forward to seeing your country!

Hi Michelle
I am sure about that it is so ridicilous but nowadays political situation in Turkey is very caotic for American citizens because of last PKK attacks. If i were you, i would postphone my trip for a short period. On the other hand i should point out that, we rarely meet such a condition.
Cheers

Would anyone else recommend postponing the trip? I'd prefer not to do that unless the situation has become very dangerous for Americans.

We'd love to meet up with some fellow VT'ers! How do we go about planning a VT meet? I've never done one before.
And I think this agb3577 person is just a troll. Or possibly my mother :>
