| São Paulo | Security in Sao Paulo City and things to see in a one day walk Posted: Fri October 12, 2007 05:50 PM UTC
Hi !
I have 8 hours during the day to visit Sao Paulo between 2 flights. How is security during day time ? Are there parts where not to go ? What part would be interesting to visit ? From where to I take the bus back to the airport ? Cheers for any of your advice ! Damien (France) |

Damien--
How do you figure 8 hours? It takes a long time, perhaps even a couple of hours, to get through customs if you are arriving on an international flight. Traffic from Garulhos (I assume this is "the airport" you refer to) into the city can take over an hour, depending on traffic. There is a shuttle bus. You could go to the area called Jardins to look around. The modern art museum (MASP) is nearby, as well as a nice park (Trianon) and a number of shops, bookstores, etc.

Depending on your arrival and departure times as the other post pointed out your time may be a bit rushed. There was a very good article in the Travel section of the on line New York Times today that might help
