| Konstanz | Accommodation in Konstanz or Zurich? Posted: Thu October 11, 2007 06:16 AM UTC
We are looking for 6 nights accommodation - Konstanz (3)and Zurich (3). Is it true accommodation is cheaper in Germany than Switzerland .
Is it cheaper for my 12-year-old to sleep on an extra bed in my room with my husband and I, instead of paying triple-sharing ? |

Nearly everything is cheaper in Germany. Konstanz http://www.konstanz.de/tourismus/en/index.htm Interesting place would be also the youth hostel in Konstanz which is partly in an old water tower. http://www.jugendherberge-konstanz.de/ Here a family room is anyway standard. With families all members have to pay the junior prices only. > Is it cheaper for my 12-year-old to sleep on an extra bed in my room with my husband and I, instead of paying triple-sharing. Triples are anyway rare. Some hotels will offer this, some even for free. Depends totally on the place. For hotels you may use http://www.hrs.com 1 double room, 2 adults, 1 children (in 2nd step: age 12 in extra bed)

Thank you for the reply. The Youth hostel looks interesting but the hotels are still beyond our budget.

The youth hostel would be a good choice for a family in my view.
Nice location, nice views. It was also opened just a few years ago. Another option if staying 3 nights would be a vacation appartment. http://www.konstanz-unterkunft.de/ -> Ferienwohnung und -häuser Than you can click on the Union Jack to get the English version.

Thank you for the website. Came across some pension apartments... Are these available for us to stay or should I look out only for vacation homes only. Sorry I am struggling a bit as most of the apartments are in German language (English)

Pensions are some kind in between vacation apartments and hotels.
If you have question you can also mail directly to them.
