Kilimanjaro Trek Company Recommendation

Hi there!

I'm looking to do Kilimanjaro in 2009. What trekking company would you recommend? And why? I am interested in doing both a trek and a safari in the Serengeti. Any useful tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!! :)

I've looked into Thomson Treks, Wilderness Travels, and Alpine Ascents so far. They all seem soooo expensive!

I would not consider going up the mountain with anyone other than the Kiliwarriors. Please check out their website http://www.kiliwarriors.com/ . They are by far the best on the mountain in every respect. Do not go for the cheap trek-you may pay with your life. These guys are tops and they can also arrange a safari in the Serengeti for you.

They have seven routes for climbing Kilimanjaro.
They also have sample Itinararies that combine climbing Kilimanjaro and going on a Safari to Serengeti and other parks. Would definately recommend them.

Hey,
we've just booked with Afromaxx. They seem to have a lot of experience and are not too expensive. I can tell you later, how it really was, when we'll be back.

You can find lots of operators on http://www.tatotz.org/. The cheapest I found is Bobby Tours (www.bobbytours.com). They offer the Machame Route for about 900 $. I want to do the the trip in July 2008 and I'm still not sure which operator to take.
