| Stuttgart | Stuttgart Volkfest - Beer Tents Posted: Wed October 10, 2007 03:48 PM UTC
This will be the first time to ever go to one of these festivals & my husband is leaving all of the planning to me. I read that you should reserve a tent with the landlord...is this so? If so...how do you go about reserving a tent?

The setup is very different to Minich octoberfest, this is on a smaller scale and there is no need to reserve a tent, in fact I don,t think you are able to. Just walk into any tent and find a place to sit. Try to get there in time for the entry parade as this is well worth seeing, many beer wagons decorated with flowers and people wearing their traditional dirndls. And of course oom pa bands, I actually prefer this festival to the Munich one. There is a direct tram from the main railway station which is worth using as parking would be well nigh impossible. I went last year and arrived about 1030a.m. and saw the entry parade, then had lunch and spent a long time watching the Bands play and wandering around with icecream dribbling down my blouse!
