| Ko Samet | Where can I stay?? Posted: Mon September 8, 2003 06:19 PM UTC
I'll be heading for Koh Samet in about 11 days time to spend a blissful 4 or 5 days chilling out and enjoying the beaches, food and bars.
What I'd like to know, is where are the nicest places on the island to stay, which still have enough bars to keep us entertained in the evenings. We're on a tight budget as we're travelling the world, but would like a bungalow with air con and hot water. Is it better to find somewhere when we arrive in Koh Samet?? Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers Grant |

me and my friends usually always stay at Tubtim bungalows which are after Silver beach and Pudtsa beach...
it is less crowded then previous ones. there is nice restaurant here and whatever facilities... the thing is - place is cheaper then first few beaches b4 it, and much quiter at night. at the same time it is only 2-5 min walk to the Silver beach where are lot of other reastaurants, disco and bars situated... so, it combines close location to all those places of socialising and at the same time provides more privacy and peace ...

i'm in a hurry s i can't go looking it for u. i must have an addy on my very tiny koh samet page. electricity and hot water in the bungalow... 3/4 bars... i also remember a full moon party when i was there (ok i did find it a bit hyped and boring)... good luck!

Thanks for that, I will make a note of the name of the bungalows you suggested and see if we can find them when we arrive there.

i only can agree with Atri...
He's absolutely right: Tubtim is quiet, so you're out of the noise when you want too and enjoy the stars. But just two bays further (short walk) you can visit the party when you want to. Nice places to stay at Tubtim and great food too at the southern end of the beach (think that place was called Tubtim too: lovely bungalows up a hill overlooking the beach).

Do you think they'll be problems finding somewhere to stay on Ko Samet or Ko Chang when we get there or should we try book something before we go....any Idea on what price we can expect to pay - we're trying to cheap it this year
