Planning to spend 2 days in Kunming, one for the Stone Forest and the other for the West Hill. Questions
1. How to go to Stone Forest without joining tour groups? 2. From what I read, West Hill is big. Will we get lost without a map? and where can I get a one? |

1. Take an express bus from Kunming to Stone Forest town center, then take a local cab(rmb2 each) to the park.
2. You may purchase at the gate.

take highway bus from bus station, you could easily find the way to Stone Forest.

I did Stone Forest on my own. Came by train from Xiamen and alighted at Shilin train station, then caught a bus to Stone Forest. Probably not the standard route that most travellers would be taking though.
