| Amalfi | Driving from Amalfi to Sicily on the west coast? Posted: Thu October 4, 2007 06:08 PM UTC
I appreciate any advice. How long will it take? Are there any good places that are must sees? Or should I take the Autostrade directly to Sicily? Or should I just concentrate on the coast road and skip Sicily? I have 7 days for the round trip.
Thanks, Dan |

Hi Dan, following on from Lazy's info, the distance from Positano to Reggio Calabria is approx 500 kms, the bulk of which is on one autostrada(A3).
You should be able to cover this easily in one day, then take a fery across to Messina in Sicily. You will be hard pushed to take in everything there is to see in Sicily in the remaining time you have, but you could concentrate on the east coast - Taormina/Mount Etna/Acireale/Syracusa, returning to Messina across the Madonie Mountains via Cefalu. Have a great time - you'll love Sicily
