Hi! we are a group of erasmus students studying in Montpellier who going to I Love Techno this year, as the TGV is very expensive we have decided to fly from Carcassone to Chareroi and then get to Gent as quickly as possible as our flight arrvies at 19:05 and the gig starts at 19:00, how long does it take to get from Charelroi to Brussels and then from Brusels to Gent? is it expensive?Any insights will be much apreciated. Please someone help ,Thanks

A 2nd class single from Charleroi-Sud to Gent-Sint-Pieters costs €13.70 and the journey takes 1h25 changing at Bruxelles-Midi (train from Charleroi to Brussels, 45 mins, has as final destination Essen or Antwerp, and from Brussels to Ghent, +/- 30 mins, Knokke, Blankenberg or Ostende).

If you won't be using taxis, you would have to add to this 10 minutes and a euro or so for the bus (68) from Charleroi Airport to Charleroi-Sud station and a further couple of euros and maybe 20 minutes for the bus/tram from Gent St. Pieters to Flanders Expo (bus 76, 77 or 78 from in front of the station or tram no. 1 from the side of the station).
So, you should certainly get to the event before 22.00 and I see it goes on till 6 a.m.
