Mauritius Please Advise Me...

Howdy

I have been married for 10 months already and finally saved enough to go on honeymoon and after comparing different rates and destinations I settled for 'Le Priskil' in Mauritius. Please if anybody has been there I need to know if I’m making the right choice because after much research I ended up with completely contradicting conclusions.

Thanx a mill 4 reply's

Hi there,
Honestly, I don't think the Le Preskil is the best honeymoon hotel! It's really nothing special, nothing romantic! It's ony 10 minutes from the airport, that means that sometimes you might hear the plains! When I was there it was quite windy as well! Which room category did you chose? Because the Lagoon rooms are quite small and are not directly at the beach! I'd recommend to go at least for a Prestige Cottage with direct beach access! These rooms are also bigger!
Have you checked with a travel agent? Because some hotels offer a very generous honeymoon discount (some even 100% on the room rate for the bride! For example the The Residence...) However, some of them request a wedding certificat which should not be older than 6 or 9 months (depending on the hotel).
By the way, at the hotel Le Preskil you will miss out on the romantic sunsets! Chose a hotel on the west coast rather! :o)
Depending on your budget I can suggest the following hotels:
Tamassa (new hotel opening in December on the south coast for families and young people who like a bit of action.)
The Sands Resort (west coast, close to Flic en Flac where there are shops and restaurants. The swimming pool and food are great!)
Hilton Mauritius (west coast, great lush garden, fantastic atmosphere, great beach, close to Flic en Flac for shopping and restaurants)
Le Meridien Nirvana (west coast, for young active people, Nirvana part of the hotel with exclusive beach, restaurant and pool)
Pointe aux Biches (west coast, great concept with a lot of sand in the resort, for example in the restaurant!, fantastic restaurant)
Legends (north coast, fantastic atmosphere, great rooms, privacy at the beach (not accessible of other tourist)

Sorry, I hope I have not confused you with so many ideas!
Most hotels are good in Mauritius! I'm sure you will have a fantastic time, no matter which hotel you end up choosing!
Enjoy your trip!
Astrid
