| Tahiti | What about cruising on the Star Flyer Posted: Tue October 2, 2007 07:15 PM UTC
My wife and I are looking to cruise the Society Islands on Windjammer's Star Flyer in August 2008 for our Anniversary. I am looking for feedback on this cruise. We are generally outgoing people but want to spoil ourselves a little too. Are we going to go cabin crazy or will there be plenty of opportunity to get out and enjoy the islands? What about the cruise itself?
Thanks! |

That should be an excellent trip. Please note that the Star Flyer has nothing to do with the company called Windjammer (which is in the Caribbean and is in shaky financial status). The Star Flyer is operated by Star Clippers, a completely different company, and a very good one (www.starclippers.com). I have not been on this ship, but I have sailed on their larger vessel, the 5-masted Royal Clipper, and it was a very good experience. The Star Flyer's Tahiti itineraries in August offer two choices (I have their brochure here): (1) Society Islands, and (2) Society Islands & Tuamotu Atolls. I would definitely choose #2 for greater variety of islands, and yes, you will have plenty of opportunity to explore these islands ashore, just as I did on their Royal Clipper, which at that time was in the Caribbean. I hope this is helpful in making your decision.
