Hmmm, mine is a bit dated, was in Syria & Lebanon in 2005 but I found it great, no hassles except for the constant horn tooting in Beirut. The people were very friendly at that time, many had relatives in the Eastern States. Syria was superb, one of the best places I have enjoyed. Good luck.

It is safe to go there. But your best choice is to contact the girl you want to see. My advise go after presidential elections and take winter cloths with you.
