hey can anyone tell me the drinking age in Portugal and the clubbing age? Many thanks

it's 78 years old. If you're under that, you're strictly not allowed to drink or go to clubs.

There is no minimum age for drinking alcohol in Portugal (same as in the UK) but the alcohol purchase age is 16.

Don't know about clubs, but imagine it's 18 (Portugese voting age). May vary according to club/locality.

Now seriously, I went out for a coffee and asked a cop: It's 16 for drinking, smoking and entering clubs.

It's 16 for drinking and smoking (that is, purchasing either) though there is a proposal in the pipeline raising the smoking age to 18. Naturally clubs could not sell alcohol to anyone younger than 16 so you could say 16 is the minimum "clubbing age", but in practice it can be higher, it depends on the club. For casinos the minimum age is 18 for foreigners and (for play), 21 or even 25 for locals!

I went clubbing there this summer.. well in the Old Town you will find nice small bars/clubs where you can dance till 3am or more. People are from 17-30 y/o. If you to go "The Strip" which is an area callea like this, you'll find discos and nicer clubs but people is 14-18 y/o. I chose the Old Town!

OK but the minimum age is 16. Maybe the clubs staff there is not that strict for business reasons, but... did you ask all the boys and girls age?

Of course I didn't ask to everyone their age :)) but you can guess it by looking at their lovely faces :-))) and when you are 15/16 you don't exactly look like when you're 30 LOL

and I wrote here about people's age cause I know the poster is certainly looking for her age group to have fun and party with.. I dont have much fun dacing with teeneagers, I prefer my age group.

Does anyone know if there are any restrictions on someone under 16 (age 14-15) drinking alcohol at a meal with parents??? If the parents are buying it is the teen allowed to drink??

even though in Spain I was asked!! Do I look like 16??? LOL LOL LOL
