| Sevilla | day-trip from Sevilla Posted: Tue September 25, 2007 04:18 PM UTC
Hola,
We can't wait to go to Sevilla... we rented an appartment and be there on the very begining of October. We'll stay an entire week, so we'll want to take time to make two day-trip out of Sevilla... A part Cordoba (wich we plan to visit), does anybody have other ideas? Every suggestion will be appreciate, thanks everyone! PS We love Natural Parks but we'll be travelling by train or bus... |

These are the places I would recommend:
Jerez de la Frontera - a charming town - jome of Sherry Cadiz - a famous seaport and university city Ronda - an ancient city, dramatic scenery and an amzing bridge- lots of history. Merida - another ancient city You will be able to do some of it by bus, but you won't be able to do it all in a week except by dashing a round and only half seeing. I suggest you look at these places up in your Guide Book and/or have a look at the entries on the relevant VT Travel Pages, then make decisions about what you most want to see. There is so much natural beauty to be found in the area -lakes, forests and mountain ranges and - possibly too far for you to consider without a car "white villages" like Gaucin, for example. Also Grazelema a village in the midst of an area of oustanding natural beauty. It is possible that you could take a full day coach tour from Seville and see a little more than you would manage by public transport in a day. Enjoy the trip.

Thank you very much for your answer, ranger49
I'll take the time to check all your suggestions on VT and books, but everything looks great... I'm already sure of one thing: we'll have a lack of time that's for sure! Thank again Bests

There is a wonderful Natural Park at San Lucar de Barrameda about an hour and a half by bus from Sevilla, on the coast. I think it's called Santa Ana. It has a lot of wildlife.

hi,
as ranger said, don`t miss Ronda and cadiz!!! Jerez is also nice. Great food in jerez. Go to Juanito Bar, right in the center is Calle de Pescaria, if I´m not mistaked. I justo came back from my 17 days trip around Andalucía :) You´ll love it. Tânia

Jerez is a good place, as others have said. If you're into flamenco, it's huge there and many famous flamenco singers come from Jerez. The people are also proud of their horses and their sherry.

Hello Traa and Fairy dust,
Thanks to everybody for your good tips! I take my flight in two days, I can wait... I feel I won't want to come back in Québec, November is soooo sad here, bt I'll surely have kept full of "spainy sun" inside anyway Enjoy, everybody! Geneviève
