How day swould you recommend in Pingyao?
I plan to arrive in the morning from an overnight beijing train and maybe depart the same day on an overnight train to Xian. Is one day enough in Pingyao or should I stay overnight. Thanks in advance. |

Pingyao is very small city, i think one day is OK

Pingyao attraction: Wang's Compound Shuanglin Temple Temple of the City God Rishengchang Exchange Bank Ancient City Wall The Ancient Ming and Qing Streets
One day is enough for pingyao, but you'd better stay one night in Pingyao, otherwise you will feel very tired!

You can see Pingyao in one day, but I would recommend spending the night, as it is very relaxing, especially after coming from a big city like Beijing. Also it would give you more time and you could see Wangjia dayuan (Wang's residence), which is about an hour from Pingyao. It's worth going there.
