Hi! You've picked my favorite place on the planet! Regarding good snow conditions, most likely there will be snow; however, last year California in general had very little precipitation so it's hard to say how the snow will be--two years ago Tahoe had record snowfall and last year was below average. I would say that your chances for a great time are very high! My family, which includes 2 teens and a 10-year-old, loves the north shore and the ski areas mentioned, especially Squaw Valley (site of 1960 Olympics) which also has an ice-skating rink at the top. Squaw also has a great Village at the base of the mountain. All the wonderful ski areas of Tahoe are just a short distance away, so you can try most of them, especially Heavenly on the South Shore. As for a place to stay, Incline Village is our favorite. I would strongly recommend renting a 2 bedroom condo in the McCloud complex--you will love the ambiance! The condos are well-kept up and beautiful. We stay there every year. Try googling the North Tahoe Resort Association, Tanager Realty or Goldfish Properties--all in Incline Village. We have used them all and been very happy. Also check www.vrbo.com-- (Vacation Rental By Owner) and search for McCloud in Incline Village. Forest Pines condos in Incline are also nice if you can't find a McCloud available. Reserve now--things book up really fast. Let me know if I can answer other questions--Tahoe is wonderful!
