Mostar Train from Beograd to Mostar
Posted: Thu September 20, 2007 10:19 AM UTC
Hello,

Is there anyone who knows where I can find info about trains/buses from Beograd to Mostar? I tried the serbian railways, but they have no international info.I am traveling from Romania, Timisoara. I found a train to Beograd, but have no idea where to look for the rest of the way.
If anyone knows any site or phone number...it would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

Hi,
I think Beograd has no direct train connection with Mostar. Check http://www.bas.co.yu/ there you has buses, trip take so 12 hours and coaches goes often and prices are fine.

have a nice day!

There are no direct trains from Belgrade to Mostar, or even to Sarajevo. Check www.bahn.de for Belgrade-Sarajevo trains - you would have to change either in an obscure station in Croatia or at Doboj in Bosnia. The fastest connection is about 11 hours, much longer than a bus from Belgrade to Sarajevo (7-8 hours). Once in Sarajevo it is easy to get to Mostar, there are quite a few buses as well as two trains daily.

If you can't get a direct bus to Mostar at a time that suits, using the timetable link from the previous poster, you could also get a bus to Sarajevo and connect to Mostar. However note that most buses from Belgrade go to the inconveniently located Istocno (East) Sarajevo bus station in the suburbs, whereas buses to Mostar go from the main station near the centre (beside the train station).

We got the bus last month from Belgrade to Sarajevo...the best connection is at 08:00-Arr 16:00 or 10:00-Ar 17:25 it takes you to the Serbian side of Sarajevo..This is not a problem , taxis meet the buses and it is a short ride to the other part of town. "direct bus" leaves late at 16:00 arriving in Sarajevo at 22:45 .There are buses every hour or so to Mostar and it takes 2.5 hours. No need to book ahead. Check schedule www.bas.co.yu
use IST for Sarajevo for complete schedule
