There is a Pagoda Hotel in Honolulu at 1525 Rycroft St it is suppose to be popular with Kamaiana but not really in a tourist area of town.

Try a Google Earth Search and go to Honolulu/Waikiki and take a airial view with lodging activated. Many hotels come up.

lots of japanese in hawaii so there may be a tokota, but im with the other poster and think you may be referring to the pagota.
the pogota is not in waikiki proper and more in a residential and commercial area not too far from the ala moana. its a dated hotel and again is popular with locals and does not offer the hawaii experience. i am familiar with the area since i dated a girl that lived across the street and also frequented hostess bars in the area ha ha. i would not recommend the pagota to my family or friends and i think before long it will be nothing more than a hot pillow joint. the hotel rates on oahu are going ballistic as on all islands so better to pay more to stay better than less and have a bitter stay. there is a tj max not far is your mom likes shopping for deals though. pound for pound this place is a ton of crap. just not worth skimping when staying in honolulu because there is no such thing as a bargain. mucho aloha
