Schloss Neuschwanstein Travel Forum

I'm wanting to go visit Schloss Neuschwanstein, but not exactly sure how to get there. I will only be traveling by train/bus. Are there buses and or trains near by?

From Munich or other places in Bavaria you could use the Bavaria Ticket for this trip. A day ticket covering all regional trains in Bavaria plus most other local public transport. E.g. the buses from Füssen to Hohenschwangau.

I remember being stung with that stupid bavaria ticket, by a very angry ticket inspector. Something about not using it in various times.

But yeah, a train to Fussen, and then you'll be right.

Depending on when you are going, you might want to look in to buying your castle tour tickets online to avoid the lines there. Another possibility, is to book a guided tour. Some actually meet you at the main train station or hotels in Munich. They should handle all the ticket & transportation issues for you. The castle tour itself will be the same, lasting about 30-35 minutes. Gary
