| Riyadh | Exiting KSA with Car Posted: Wed September 19, 2007 11:26 AM UTC
Hi All,
I am planning to move to Dubai from KSA. However, I will not be leaving on a final exit. I currently own a car and would like to drive the car to Dubai from KSA. Does anybody know what I would require to be able to drive in to Dubai from Saudi in order to register the vehicle in UAE? Thanks in advance for your help. J |

BTW, you can only register your vehicle in the UAE if you have your residency sorted out.
Also, not officially exporting the car will make some intersting things potentially take place. When you officially import into the UAE, even from within the GCC, you have to pay a certain amount of tax (yes, who said the middle east was tax free?) and your vehicle will be examined. A bit like the MVPI type of thing. Typical things you will be asked to remidy include car window tinting. If they let you register the car without either of the above, we would be interested to know. Keep us updated. Have fun messing up your employer's iqama... just kidding. I'm sure you are moving to one of their branch offices.
