| Kovalam | Best way to book for Kovalam Posted: Wed September 19, 2007 08:05 AM UTC
I am thinking of going to Kovalam in January with my girlfriend,is it better to just book a flight and book hotel seperatly or is it just as well to book flight and hotel together at a place like first choice? Which would be cheapest? we are thinking of going for around 2 weeks.Have anyone a hotel they can recommend? We have been to Goa before but this is our first time in Kerala.

If you fly in to Trivandrum aiport you should get flights cheaper if you are from England as the charter companies fly into there, Airtours etc. It may well work out cheaper to do a package if you take that option. If you decide to fly in to Kovalam generally it won't be cheaper to do a package - but this would depend on the type of accomodation that you want to stay in. If your looking for 4* and above it generally it is cheaper to do a package as the operators get special rates. Anything below that standard in India its going to be cheaper to do yourself.

good afternoon from kochi
well, i would book a hotel for arrival but not for the full stay. kerala, the state of india which you are going to travel to has such a lot of beautiful sceens to see, i cannot imagine you come so far just to lay on a beach. kerala is a beautiful state, covered with coco palm trees and, in the hills tea and spices, coffee and precious woods. in your place i would stay a few days on the beach relaxing but then, maybe take a car with a good driver and go to visit some of the fantastic places kerala has to offer. happy journey! monique from kochi

The cost of booking a flight only is usually more expensive than booking a package, ussually the difference in a package price between booking a 1 star hotel and say a 3 star plus is very very nominal, remember the package company gets bulk discount on hotels and generally use their own aircraft. Look at companies such as www.manos.co.uk www.firstchoice.co.uk Jewel Holidays, prices are very reasonable plus you will spend a fraction of what you will spend in Spain, Greece etc when you are there.
