| Torrox | Weather? Posted: Tue September 18, 2007 01:01 PM UTC
Hi
i am thinking of going to Torrox on March 13th for 7 nights. Hopefully will be staying at the Riu Ferrara. Do you think it is better to do self catering or the half board option? I wondered if there were many bars or restaurants to eat out at? Also the important thing is the weather? What is it like in March? Thank you, Stacey xxx |

Hi there
Torrox area is in Malaga?? I guess your best bet would be to do the self catering option, at least thats what I often do, you eat when you're hungry and get up whenever you feel and are not subjected to a time table, are you going with children as this should also be taken into account?? I hate a holiday with a time table lol. In Spain you will find plenty of supermarkets namely Prica, Mercadona, Continente etc etc,and or small family run businesses selling food etc. Prices will obviously vary from restaurant to restaurant but cheap, clean and friendly services are the norm. Gibraltar is where I live and Torrox should be about 1 and a half - two hours away so I guess weather will be pretty similar to ours....March is usually from cold to average temperature (3 celcius to 21 celcius), bring an umbrella too and we usually get rain during March to May but on the other hand I recall having gone to the beach as early as February I hope I haven't spoilt your beach plans but nowadays with global warming the weather is erratic anyway lol. Two days ago in Marbella they had hail stones the size of golf balls and here in Gib we received double the avge rainfall for Sept in a few hours but today the sun is out and the beaches full Should you require any further help just give us a bell Eric

Hi Stacy
We moved to Torrox Dec 2006 so nearly done a year, so getting to know the weather and seasons. Being mad brits and still used to UK weather we have swam in the sea every month, Boxing day was spent on the beach and we were swimming, although the Spanish just shake their heads at us. Though now 1 year on the is too cold now lol. March would be lovely, loads of sunshine and Torrox is supposed to have the best climate in Europe. Torrox has loads of bars, cafes and restaurants plus you do not get the yobs or drunks it is a family area like the next town along Nerja. We have 6 children and we know loads of great places to dine at as we never go out unless we all go as a family. hope this helps any questions just ask. BS
