me and my husband are avid golfers and we would like to play in banff, any recommendation on where and when is the best time to go and play golf, we dont want to play during the peak season,can we still play during the latter part of september or early october. thanks

The golf course at the Banff Springs Hotel is really lovely! I am not a golfer myself, but I often walk through the course in the winter when I am home.

Late September you MAY still be able to golf in Banff, but I am sure the courses are closed by Oct. due to cold and most likely snow.

i'd plan on september. you should also look at kananaskis provincial park if you don't mind driving a bit from banff. it is suppose to be great.

I watched golfers drive over the Spray River when I was a kid. I think they still do.

Hi I saw 2 courses whilst in Banff last June, there was the elite Fairmont Banff Springs and also a course down past the Banff Rocky Mountains Resort just off Tunnel Mountain Road.

Mike, I'm pretty sure those two golf courses you saw are one and the same - the Fairmont Banff Springs. You can see the Banff Springs course down in the valley across the Spray River from that Tunnel Mountain Road.

Hi we were staying at the Nanff Rocky Mountain Resort which is close to where Banff Ave crosses the Railway line 4 to 5 km from the town centre close to where the Trans Canada Highway meets Banff ave. The road we drove along from the resort was in a direction towards Canmore, thus away from Banff, it had a few twists and turns but I doubt if the same golf course.

Mike, Look on Google Earth, and see if you can find two golf courses near Banff? I still can only find one. I can see where Banff Ave. crosses the railway, and I can see Tunnel Mountain Rd., but the nearest golf course other than the Banff Springs is in Canmore.

Hi Take your word for it , I could have followed the river around as on the drive we came to the river. No dispute.
