No train station in Tromso, there are buses but it's cheaper to fly:
www.norwegian.no It is possible to drive it but I've never done it so can't comment!

The train goes via Sweden and only until Narvik. To drive the road is long and slow, maybe it would take 2-3 days, I wouldn't try to do it unless I'm on a long vacation. Better to fly ;-)

I know of someone doing it in a little over 24 hours, but thats totall madness - bringing food and coffee and eating as they drove not stopping for a minute. I say if driving: a minimum of 3 days.

24 hours - that is MAD!!!!
Oslo - Bodø is 1300 km and doable in 20 hours if you drive STRAIGHT up there (as in more than one driver and no stops). Bodø - Tromsø is atleast 6 hours more.... Train; northern stop is Bodø. But if train from Sweden -> Narvik. Think you better drive via Sweden (Oslo - Tromsø) as the roads there is better. You should atleas plan for one sleep over (if driving without stops).
