Re: smoking in apartments Posted: Thu November 15, 2007 06:04 AM UTC
We just returned from Torremolinos and the Bajandillo apts. We stayed for five weeks, and we enjoyed it. We had asked for a non smoking room, but there were ashtrays in the room. My wife is allergic to cigarette smoke, and they must have done a good job of cleaning, as she wasn't bothered at all. The people in the next room were smokers though, but they would smoke outside on the balcony. We had a room on the fifth floor on the west wing facing the center court and the pool. The rooms are pretty roomy for Europe. Most of the rooms have a pretty good view of the sea and the beach. The floors from the fouth on up probably have the best views. Ask for poolside rooms if available. We arrived there Sept 15, and the entertainment was outside under our room every night. We actually enjoyed it. If we didn't want to hear it, we shut the doors and turned the air condition on, and watched tv. The last week we were there, it started getting a little cool at night, so they moved the entertainment to the inside showroom. When we left a couple weeks ago, the people were still using the pool. Also people on the beach too. There are some women sunning around the pool, and also over on the beach that are topless. It seems to be accepted there as normal. There were several tour groups from other countries staying at the hotel, and some of them would sunbathe topless too, so it is part of the European culture. I think that smoking is allowed, but not encouraged. All in all we enjoyed the stay, and the location is very good. Lots of good restaurants close. We had some very nice day trips from a travel office right by the hotel. If any other questions, I'll be glad to help. Tom in Montana
