Hi i am going to be visiting Riyadh for a few days, can anyone tell me how the city is in terms of atmosphere, beauty and hospitality? What are the best areas, what are the best sights? Basically can anyone describe what kind of impression the city of Riyadh can create when you visit it for the first time?

Thanks in Advance!!

when are you coming? there are a lot of things to see in Riyadh. The city is just like any big city when it comes to the traffic. you need a car in this street as public transportation is not an option (no metro or good bus system)

it's a very safe city, and people...I don't know about that, depends where and with whom you'll be interacting. taxies are not expensive, and food is absolutely the best thing about this city. just let me know when are you coming and where you'll be staying and I'll try to come up with few suggestions as to what to do during your stay.

Most of your questions have been answered in member's pages and by the two other posters.

My 2 cents... Atmosphere is relaxed, they take their time. Driving is an exception. If you end up driving here, expect to get stressed and the feeling that everyone wants to run you off the road.

If you like sand, you won't find much of it in the city. Modern, for the most part. For the sand dunes you have to go outside. There are parks and gardens, but for family use only (The majority anyway).

Hopefully you had a pleasent stay.
