Hi!
I'm leaving for Paralia tomorrow and I need to know are there regular buses to Meteora and Mount Olymp? Is it possible to go there in the morning and come back in the evening? Do you know schedule and prices of bus tickets?
Can I go to the village in the foot of Meteora and do the trip by myself? And yet be back in Paralia for the dinner?

Many people go to Kalambaka and climb to Meteora by foot. It can be a long way but very nice. Also when you get tired just ask somebody to give you a lift to Grand Meteora.
It should be buses very often coz Kalambaka is very live town. And yes, it should be a day trip.
If you wanna buy some souvenirs, it`s not true that is more expensive in front of the monasteries. Prices are the same like in Kalambaka and even higher in Paralia for instance. You can also bargain a bit.

Don`t miss Meteoras. You have to see the starts of Byzantine empire and how they kept the faith under Turks rule.
I went twice already and third time i was proposed there. It will always be a spiritual matter to me.

Just don't use Peria or Pieria (don't remember the spelling) Travel office - it's really poor. I went for 3 trips with them, and after fist two they promised it will be better next time - the programme they promised wasn't done. After the third one they even didn't meet with me and my colleagues, to explain the problems with bus and programme of trip.
