Cayman Islands Arriving on the Island December 07/January 08 - Roommate Needed
Posted: Fri September 14, 2007 02:23 PM UTC
Hi there!

I have received an offer for employment on Cayman and should be arriving on the Island in December 07/Jan 08.

I have searched through all the various rental sites, etc., but does anyone have any inside scoop on finding roommates? I would be interested in sharing an apartment or house for about the first 6 months to start. Hoping to pay somewhere around $1200 not including utilities...

I'm a 33 yo female from Vancouver, Canada, and will be working downtown on normal business hours. Have a family that will be staying behind, but will eventually relocate.

Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

Hi, my name is Bryan and it sounds like you're looking for the same scenario I am. I will be arriving on island in November, but fortunate enough to have a company putting me up for a month; but by December 1st, I will be needing a short-term rental property for about 6-months before my family comes down, as well.

I'm a 41 year old professional, presently living in Florida, who will be managing one of the most visible companies on Grand Cayman. I'm also a veteran of living in the Caribbean, although not Grand Cayman, so I still need to find my way around.

Best case scenario for me would be to find a roommate to split a 2-br place and split expenses while sizing up the island and seeking out the best place to raise a 10 year old.

If you have an interest in chatting more about this, feel free to drop me a note to HBCRadio@aol.com

Thanks,

Bryan

Hi there,

Just checked in today and noticed your reply. Thanks for getting back to me (the responses have been somewhat sparce).

I am just going through my paperwork now, and the thought is that I should be arriving on Island sometime in the beginning of January or so. Yay!

It certainly sounds like we are in the same boat re: family and kids.

I'll be sure to touch base in the next month or so. I've spotted some great townhouse/condo developments that I would love to get in to when the family comes down.

Drop me a line if you like at camelbakorbust@hotmail.com

Cheers

Hi there

I have a two bedroom condo right on the ocean with a pool in your backgarden! I am looking for a girl roommate as they tend to be tidier than men. I have just bought a house last year and so you would be my first renter. Your situation appears to suit me perfectly in that I am looking to rent out from the 16 Jan when I return from holiday and for just 6 months initially.

My house is beautiful and everything is brand new and the bedroom is a king size bed with ocean view and you have your own bathroom. I am 32 years old and a professional ie work in IT for a large bank. What do you do? My house is 15 min drive from George Town. I am very neat and would require someone who is too. I require a non smoker, quiet person, who will not have many friends over at a time and who isn't a party animal or night owl. The person should be clean and tidy up after themselves. Rent I am looking at is 1150 excluding utilities and a cleaner which would be shared at a shared cost.

I am easy going, only two things would bother me ... I don't like the house freezing cold with the AC on all the time (aside from it been VERY expensive, we in a tropical climate, no need to live in a fridge) and second I am a morning person and a light sleeper so would not like the tv on too loud as it would keep me awake. For the rest I am a professional person who works hard and I like a home to be a beautiful, comfortable dwelling. If you the same, then please get in touch. If you would like to view my house let me know your email and I will post some pictures.

It is exquisitely decorated and of a clean cut contemporary style, with tile floors and wooden staircase, and everything is brand new with stainless steel appliances. If the above is you I would like to hear from you and post a pic too so we can get acquainted. Looking for an educated, mature, quiet, non drinker, non smoker. A deposit would also be required.

Look forward to hearing from you if this person is you.

My email is karenmantz@yahoo.co.uk

Regards
Karen
