| Zhangjiagang | Amount of Taxi Fare Posted: Fri September 14, 2007 04:25 AM UTC
Hi!
My husband is an expat staying in Zhangjiagang Province. He has some business to do in Shanghai but cannot go there alone. He is considering to hire a taxi based in Zhangjiagang. How much is a taxi fare from Zhangjiagang then drop off to Shanghai - U.S. Embassy. And then goin back to Zhangjiagang after he is done in Shanghai. Aga |

I don't understand. Is there some special reason that he cannot take normal public transport ie buses?

I assume you're talking about the city of Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu Province. In that case, it's an hour and a half to Shanghai... I'd take the train!

There is no train from Zhangjiagang to Shanghai. But there is bus you can take.It goes like this:1.go to the local bus station by a taxi(or any other ways you prefer).2.buy a ticket from Zhangjiagang to Shanghai.I guess the ticket costs RMB20 or so.3.after arrived Shanghai,go out of the station and take a taxi to wherever you want.
I suggest your husband go to shanghai by a buy instead of a taxi,it is much more expensive, besides, the cab driver is not famliar with the roads in Shanghai, and there are more fees for a cab from places out of Shanghai. In conclusion, take a taxi from Zhangjiagang to Shanghai,it will cost more, both money and time.
