Anyone in Sorrento forum know about seiano and vico equense-My questionsare
1-If staying in Seiano (there is a nice new hotel) is there a small town nearby as we like to be able to go to small villages for dinner etc. Also I am told there is a train stop right in town and it takes people to Sorrento? Is a train necessary or is there a bus as well?Any help is appreciated--Gene |

I only know Seiano by passing through on the transfer coach to Sorrento. It appears to be a small town/ village surrounded by pleasant hilly scenery. The train station is about 800 yards from the edge of town.
There is a good train service to Pompei Sorrento Naples etc. I think the bus service to Vico Equense is fairly good but not to Sorrento. If you won't have a car, make sure your hotel is within comfortable walking distance of the train station. Regards Peter.

Since my last post in September, I have visited Seiano, by train from Sorrento. I wanted to see the church and find the loction of Grand Hotel Angiolieri which sounds attractive on the website. Unfortunately, the church was shut, the time being about 10.30 am. We found the hotel down a quiet avenue on the edge of town with terrific views over the bay of Naples. The train station is an easy 5 minute walk away. The main road is busy but there is a good footpath.
Peter.
