Ko Phangan Travel Forum

I was plannng to go to Koh Phangan and BKK as well . But the problem is I do not know where is the nearest airport to Koh Phangan , which is nearer KRABI or PHUKET , what are the distance from KRABI-PHANGAN and PHUKET-PHANGAN. I will be flying from KL, Malaysia

Can anyone help me with my ittinerary, palnning to go Phangan for fullmoon on the 20th April , maybe stay for 2 days then fly to BKK. How should I fly .

MY plan : From KL fly into BKK by Airasia , same day take NOK air to (KRABI /PHUKET) , stay 2 nights then fly back to BKK-KL

Any better suggestion , anyone ?

The closest airport to Phangan is Koh Samui then a ferry over to Phangan.There is also an airport in Surathanni but it is a long way to the ferry pier.

What about from Phuket , how far its Phuket to Phangan ?

Bangkok Air have flights from Phuket to Samui.It's about 2600 baht one way.There are also air-con buses cheaper but slower.

from KL go by bus to hat yai city(thailand) arrive in the morning and take bus from hat yai (bus terminal)to koh samui(afternoon)one night in samui,and go to koh phangan in the morning.

To travel to Koh Phangan from Krabi by bus and ferry takes the best part of a day. From Krabi go overland by bus to Surrathani then get the ferry from there to Thonsala Pier, SW Koh Phangan. The journey from Phuket is the same, overland to Surrathani then ferry, but takes longer. These should only cost about £9 for both bus and ferry tickets. It is however much easier to fly to Samui from Bangkok then get the ferry from there to Haad Rin, SE Phangan, which is where the moon party is held.
