Hello,

My family is considering going to Venice during the third week of October and would like to add a side trip to Lake Garda. We are wondering if there are activities to interest our children (ages 11 & 13) that time of year. Is it possible to rent a sailboat? How difficult is the hiking? Which city would you recommend staying in? I am looking at both Bardolino and Malcesine. I would appreciate any input.

Between the 2, i prefer Malcesine.. By far. There are hikes good for everyone (you can climb the Monte Baldo with the cableway, and there you'll have nice views and easy paths.
There is a sailboat schhol/rental in Val di Sogno (search Stickl) but i'm sure there are more.
