| Nottinghamshire | Where else can we to go in Nottingham? Posted: Wed September 12, 2007 01:02 AM UTC
A group of 7 will be Nottingham this coming October for annual excursion. We have visited the Castle, Trip to Jelusleum, Victoria Centre, Trent River, Cricket Ground and West Brigdefort.
Where else can we go this time? VT member please enlightened. Thank you in advance. |

I think you will find lots of suggestions on the Official Tourism web site -

Hi, if you are an all male group try a visit to Hooters for some nice food and some fantastic scenery.

I think you've seen the main central attractions. A couple of miles outside the centre is Wollaton Hall and Park - if the weather's good it's a nice place for a stroll.
I must confess that when we have visitors over we tend to go to places like Newstead Abbey, Southwell (Minster) and Newark (market town with ruined castle beside the Trent). Each of them is more attractive than anything in Nottingham. If you don't have a car, you'll need the bus for Newstead Abbey and Southwell, and train for Newark. By car, all are within about 30 minutes of central Nottingham.

The Tales of Robin Hood in Maid Marion Way is worth a visit. If anyone likes steam trains there is a good preserved railway at Loughborough ( Great Central Railway) and there are plenty of trains to Loughborough from Nottingham.
