to this island. We are thinking of going for a day or two in December. Will any boats be running then from the mainland? Should we wait for spring or summer?

San Domino is the main isle of four isles. People live on S. domino and S. Nicola isles.
On December you can arrive there with Tirrenia ferries. http://www.tirrenia.it/pages_en/oraritremiti.asp (english) http://www.tirrenia.it/pages_de/oraritremiti.asp (german) On that page there's a map. Point the cursor of your mouse on the departure town and clik on the hatched link to visualize the correspondig timetable. I don't know if others companies have ferries to tremiti. Bye :)
