| Havana | Internet access in Cuba? Posted: Sun September 9, 2007 05:50 PM UTC
Doing some research on the availability of internet access in Cuba. I have found a few postings on this but they are dated.
Does anyone know how easy it is to get internet access in Cuba these days? Thanks! |

There are a number of great web sites on Cuba including internet access information...try cuba-junky dot com. Internet access should not be a problem for you unless you are staying out in the boonies somewhere.
Have a great time.

Hi. I was in Cuba in 2005 and there where some place where you could go on the internet. Speed of the connection was a problem for sending pictures trough but sending a e-mail was ok. I used places in Trinidad, Vinales and Havana.

Unless you're a Cuban citizen you will have to fork out up to 12 bucks an hour for a crackling dial-up connection - if you're lucky enough to find one. Well that was back in 2005, they may have got their crap together in the meantime. Stranger things have happened.

I was in havanna in 2004
Internet access was only possible at post office (- and, im not shure, maybe some tourist hotels). I had to give them my Passport Number. I think that the access for cubans is limited - and for tourists not. ... also phone calls are very expensive: 10$ for 2,5 minutes to europe! Kind regards Tschillig from Switzerland

You have no problem getting internet, even some Casas have internet. Maybe in a small village you wont but in the bigger citys no problem.
