| Manchester | Good ideas for a budget hotel/hostel? Posted: Fri September 7, 2007 10:28 AM UTC
Hi,
does anybody know a good place to stay in Manchester for one or two nights? I am looking for a good budget solution - either hotel or a hostel would be fine, too. I will do research on hostel.com. But maybe someone has a good hint. I have never been in Manchester and do not know much about it yet. So I am also interested in some nice ideas what I should not miss within one day, where is a nice place to spend the evening etc. Maybe there are some typical things I have to get a taste of? Thank you, best, Chris. |

Hi. There is a YHA hostel in the Castlefield district just a few minutes walk from the city centre. Its in a really nice area and close to Deansgate Rail Station.
Also there is the Stay Inn / Comfort Inn on Blackfriars Road, Salford. Again only a few minutes from the City Centre and close to Victoria Station. But it is close to a fairly rough and depressed area. Right in the city centre is the Gardens hotel and rooms start quite cheaply. There are others too but maybe a bit further out of Manchester, such as Travel Lodge etc. Try their website. They have one at Old Trafford, which is a 20 minute walk from the centre or a 10 minute tram journey.
