| Atlanta | 10 hours in Atlanta Posted: Fri September 7, 2007 02:06 AM UTC
Ok, 10 hours in Atlanta on Saturday, November 3. What to do for a first time visitor? Assuming my Delta flights are on time, I arrive at 5:20am and depart at 3:30pm from the Atlanta Airport. What shall I do? Any ideas?

You could see the Buckhead area in Atlanta, Underground Atlanta. What do you like to do?

alittle of everything. Playing around with sights in Atlanta, The Coca-Cola place, State Capital Building, Stone Mountain(I think thats what it's called), etc. Any of them worth doing on a Saturday in November? Assuming your Transit system from the airport works well, can I do more than one? Am also open to a rental car to get around. I'll be by myself.

You can take MARTA directly from the airport to the 5 points station in the center of town. From there you can either walk or take the westbound train to the Phillips Arena/World Congress Center stop. It is a short walk from there to the World of Coca Cola and the Georgia Aquarium. Also from 5 points you can easily walk to the Capitol (although there is not much to see there). If you want to see Stone Mountain, you really need a car. Another alternative from 5 points is taking the eastbound train about 3 stops to the King Memorial stop. From there you can easily walk to Dr. & Mrs. King's tombs at the old Ebenezer Baptist Church and across the street is the MLK Center which has some spledid displays, photos and videos of his life.
