hello! I live in Montréal, I can "try" to help.
The buildings are by the Lachine Canal, in a borough that was very industrial until the 60's. The Five Roses Flour Mill was perhaps the most important building, there is even a street named after the mill. I think the top pic may be an old hangar of Five Roses Flour Mill. With the opening of the St.Lawrence Seaway, the Canal lost its economic importance and industries closed down, leaving 20,000 people without work. The canal was closed to commercial navigation in 1970. In the early 2000, the Canal was re-opened for yachting and the Canal Lachine area became popular for sporting activities. More recently, condominiums have been built on the spot shown in your map-picture. They are often converted from old industrial buildings into trendy, upscale condominiums. I think the middle oval and the lower one are such condos. I was on the site a couple of years ago, to see new condos just put up for sale. Hope that helps!

Sound good to me Lou.
If I squint, I can just see you walking along the water's edge beside the top building!

Thank you for the information. I did a little more research and the building I was particularly interested in turned out to be a grain elevator - Silo #5.
Thank you. Arthur
