Hollywood Mini California Vacation
Posted: Thu September 6, 2007 04:57 PM UTC
I am planning a trip to California in October, and my initial plan was to just visit Disneyland, but now it has changed and includes Universal studios and Hollywood as well.
2 Days Disneyland + 1 Day Universal + 1 Day Hollywood
I am going for 4 full days (5 nights).

Now I need some pointers on what would be the best thing to do.
Where to stay? Original plan is to stay in Disneyland for 4 days, and on last 2 days take bus to Universal, and one day to Hollywood, but maybe it would be best and cheaper to stay in LA and travel both days to Disneyland and…

Any suggestions?

Thank You…

Unless you really like busses, stay two or three nights in one place, then move. The northern LA to Anahiem trip is usually at least an hour, more if the traffic is bad.
This way you can spend your time visiting the sighte instead of sitting on a bus.

We used priceline last month and were very happy. For our Neighbood choice we picked West Hollywood. We ended up getting the Century City Hyatt. A beautiful property in a central location. At only 120 a night... I would stay there for your Hollywood type things and further south for the Disney land. The traffic is simply maddening. I would also stay off the freeway as much as possible. that was horrible. You can priceline both locations. We did. We also stayed at the Newport Beach Hyatt for 105 a night and it was closer to things further south than Hollywood. Staying closer to the attraction your interested in that day makes things much easier on you...

Hope this helps...

Jenn

I don’t mind traveling by the bus.
I was also thinking of staying in a hotel at the place I am visiting, however most places have check in times past 12 in the afternoon, and what do I do with the bags, it would be inconvenient to carry them around whole morning…

This way if there is a bus to both places from Disneyland early in the morning I could take that.
For example there is free shuttle that goes from Disneyland to universal studios, and that will not be a problem, but I don’t know how to get from Disneyland to Hollywood and back.

Or maybe do you think my best bet would be to stay in Los Angeles for the whole duration of the trip and figure out a way to get to all three places from there?

Well I would go for a Centrally located Hotel. That way the bus is the same distance either way you want to go. T hat way you dont have to worry about your bags. Not driving does make things tougher...
