Re: from Delphi to Thessaloniki Posted: Wed September 5, 2007 09:01 PM UTC
Just browsing thru my (Excellent) Rough Guide to greece, I found a page of "travel details" from that area of Greece. It shows me that there is no direct bus from Delphi to Thessaloniki. It may take multiple busses & 2 days. To understand what i'm saying you DO need a map. Here is a detailed one with major highways -- http://www.greeklandscapes.com/images/maps/greecemap/gr_tb_02.jpg
ROUGH GUIDE shows that there are busses from Livadhia TO delphi 6 x a day, -- so there OUGHT to be a few going in the other direction. However I don't see a conncection on that highwya... The only northern city with a Thessaloniki bus is LAMIA. and to get to Lamia, youhave to take the Delphi bus to Amfissa (6 x a day, 30 minutes) THEN a bus to Lamia (2.5 hours, 3 x a day). THEN there is a bus from Lamia to Thessaloniki only 2 X a day.. 4 hours). That would be 7 hours with perfect connections, but probably with busses only morning & night, it could be more than 24 hours.
If u do not solve this, you might have to return to athens (3 hours) and take the express bus to THess. (6 hours). Goooood luck!
