| Manchester | Manchester-London : cheapest way. Posted: Wed September 5, 2007 09:27 AM UTC
Hi ,
My husband is coming to Manchester for a seminar this month. After seminar he has a plan to go to London. Could anybody suggest which is the cheapest way to go to London? I have heard about Megabus...how is it? Is it good? or train-travel would be more comfortable? Thanks in advance!! |

Yeah, it would be a toss up between them. Megabus likely to be cheap but not particularly comfortable. If sufficiently in advance, the train might be an option but as its this month you're more likely to find National Express the most acceptable option. However, coach will take around 4 - 5 hours and a train more like 2½.

Train will be quicker and more comfortable.
Coaches are cheaper, but take longer and can get caught in traffic congestion (trains can be delayed, admittedly, but less often than coaches). Megabus are ok. National Express (www.nationalexpress.com) is the largest national coach (bus)carrier, so it's worth looking at their site as they often have cheap 'funfares' on certain routes/days/times.
