Cook Islands cook islands in december. any advice?
Posted: Tue September 4, 2007 02:59 PM UTC
we are thinking about visiting cook islands for about 4-5 nights in early december, but wasn't too sure about where to stay and how to get around. i definitely want to visit aitutaki and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

here are some of my questions:

1. is early december a bad time to visit? does anyone think that we might get rained in?

2. what's the best way to check out aitutaki? 1 day, 2 day, or even 3 days enough? are there affordable options for accomodation on aitutaki? if there are, how do i make a reservation and what's the cost range (in u.s. dollars)?

3. about flights to aitutaki from roratonga, do i have to make reservations way in advance or can i wait till i get there?

4. what are some must do/see things on rarotonga? which motel/hotel would you guys recommend?

thanks a lot.

Have you read our answers to the previous post? The question is almost identical.
You will find plenty of answers here:

As for how long in advance to book your inter islands flight: that depends when in December you plan to go. Around Christmas/New Years everything will be fully booked long ahead. I would recommend you book ahead directly at Air Rarotonga: http://www.airraro.com/

December is the beginning of the rainy season. I have just been in Rarotonga, and it rained one of the days, and it was still excellent, I swam and snorkled that day and the water was warm.
Palm grove is an excellent motel, the rarotongan is expensive, but the best snorkling area is there (you can use the beach without having to stay there), if you are looking for a more budget price, the rarotongan backpackers has great accommodation, including beach front units for 120 a night
