| Gold Coast | Recommendations please Posted: Tue September 4, 2007 04:24 AM UTC
My husband and I willbe arriving in Coolingatta for ten days and leaving from Brisbane. We will be staying with a friend in Surfers for a few days. Would like to explore other areas and perhaps stay for a few days, not
necessarily by the beach. We enjoy relaxing around a pool. Do not like concrete jungles - much prefer places which are quiet; with some space around. We will probably hire a car for say a week - any recommendations? What will the temperature be like at that time? Any suggestions will be welcome. |

A nice drive up through the Currumbin Valley will no doubt fit your needs. There are really nice swimming holes right off of the road that I have enjoyed many times in the past as well as some glow worms caves. All easy to find and please take a picnic lunch it's wonderful. Enjoy your holiday!

After you have left Surfers stay at the Southern end of the gold Coast, Burleigh Heads to Coolangatta. Its much nicer, less built up, less touristy. The inland is the real gem. Tamborine Mountain, Binna Burra , O'Riellies,Currumbin Valley, Numinbah Valley ( Natural Arch), and the "rainbow triangle ( a stretch of land bounded by Byron Bay,Lismore and murwillumbah). All these areas are easily covered in your timeframe, and still leave time for lounging by the pool. Enjoy your stay
