Ko Phangan Travel Forum

I have read mixed reviews about where to stay in Koh Phangan during Oct. I will be there from the 9th to 21st of Oct 2007. I have read somewhere that the SW monsoon is active during my time of travel. If so, is it best to stay on the West or East side of the island during that time, I would like a swimmable beach. I heard to stay away from the west side of the island during that time. BTW I am not a budget traveller, but I do not want to spend over 2500 TBH/ night. I need recommendations on what side of the island to stay and maybe recommendations on nice beach front resorts.

Hi, I just read your question and was just wondering where you ended up staying in Koh Phangan. I am also travelling to Koh Phangan in Oct this year for my honeymoon and am also concerned about the weather / monsoon season. Did you experience bad weather or are they just short bursts of heavy rain?

I've been there at that time of year,you'll get some days it rains for the best part of the day and other days you'll just have a shower.Still enjoyed it though.
