I found the special rate at "travelzoo.com" they list alot of really good special rates from time to time - keep a lookout however because the promotions usually have expiration dates. This promotional rate for Millenium Hilton expired yesterday Sept. 3

We stayed there (there's a tip on my NYC travel page!) at that rate. It was awesome. Our room was on 47th floor with a view over Ground Zero and on to the Hudson. Once you got over the shock, it was really amazing. The hotel room was gorgeous and quite large for NYC. 42in plasma screen TV. That's the second time I've used travelzoo for good rates in NYC...the other was $99 for a suite at Beekman Towers earlier in the summer. I now keep checking www.affinia.com for deals at their suite hotels -- most are midtown like BT and really very nice.

I stayed there in April of 2001. The neighborhood was of course much different. But the hotel was beautiful and the service was second to none. Its tragic to remember my time there because of what happened shortly thereafter. I took the subway and got off at wtc. The amount of people there at 9 at night was staggering.
The hotel is great you'll love it.
