Going to various places from Aix en Provence

Hi,
I have seen the comment that it is faster to travel to various places by bus from Aix.
Is it cheaper than TGV?
I am looking at staying at Aix for 5 days and making day trips to the following.
- Nice & St Tropez
- Luberon
- Arles

Do you think TGV is cheaper or bus is cheaper?

TGV is a high speed train that makes few stops - here is the French train site and you can use it to search out places - http://www.voyages-sncf.com/ - scroll to the bottom right to choose your language

Bus is cheaper, maybe half the price of TGV. You can also take a standard train that is less than TGV price, more than bus. Travel time is in inverse to price.
