Hi All,
we are planning to rent a car for Spain/Portugal trip including a day stop in Gibralter for sightseeing. Can anyone suggest the best way to park our rental car - at La Linea or Gib itself, so we can find it back in one piece:))

We parked in La Linea in one of the parking meters - but make sure you put enough funds in the meter. We did not think we would be staying as long inside Gibraltar and I had to run back and add money. The advantage is that you will not have to make a long car queue to come in or out of Gibraltar. Remeber to bring your passport! Other consideration is that parking in Gibraltar is at a premium, so even if you need to drive around a bit to find your spot in Linea, you will find one fairly soon.

Pick up one of the little maps as you go in. Once inside, you'll be somewhere in the airport. You can take one of the buses, but make sure you pay for an all day ticket - they will not give you one automatically you have to ask. You can visit almost every place of interest using the bus and on foot.

There is a couple of carparks in La Linea very near the frontier, which are not that expensive when compared to the parking meters. And at the end of the day if you use the parking meters you are still parking out in the street. If you are thinking of traveling by bus in Gibraltar then do not bring in your car because of the queues.

Don't worry about the queues. I live in Gibraltar and it's more or less when everyone finishes work.
I advise to go in with the car and ask for "ICC carpark storage" next to the petrol station "shell".
That one is right on top of mainstreet, and at the end you can drive up the rock with your car.
It's quiet expensive if you have to go with those private taxidrivers up the rock.

We did not use any taxi drivers ... just took the bus, then the funicular up.
