Hi:

I'm planning on going to Santa Monica On September 10 for 3 days. We already have plans to see Dr. Phil and the Craig Ferguson show, but would like suggestions on MUST SEE in our very short trip. All suggestions are welcome.

I seem to remember a similar question a few days that got an interesting answer ... I think one of the suggestions was to travel Mulholland Drive and enjoy it for the great views - Laurel Canyon was also mentioned. Hopefully you could search back in the postings and find it.

Great views and something to do as well, is available at the Getty Museum high on the hill above the I-405 in Westwood, off Getty Center Dr. Admission is free, parking will cost about $8.00. Santa Monica has the 3rd Street Promenade. Marina Del Rey is a great area to cool off in the Marina and either rent a boat or look at boats, restaurants galore, next door to Santa Monica. Venice Beach is also a different take on the LA scene. Farmer's Market and the Grove Shopping Center in Mid Wilshire near CBS amd the La Brea Tar Pits are other destination stops. A drive down Hollywood Blvd. to see the handprints, etc at the Chinese Theatre, walk of fame, and the Kodak Theatre, home of The Oscars show. Universal Studios/Hollywood is close by and the City Walk at Universal is free, Studio Tours cost. NBC and the Jay Leno, Tonight Show, is also nearby. Just a few things to see or do.
